National Crop Genebank

The National Crop Genebank was completed in October 1986 at the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (CAAS). It serves as the national center for the long-term conservation and research of crop genetic resources. The facility has a total floor area of 3,200 m², including 300 m² of storage space, with a storage capacity of 400,000 accessions. Materials are stored at −18 °C (±1 °C) with relative humidity below 50%. At present, the genebank maintains long-term conservation of more than 150 crop species, comprising 360,000 accessions.
