1st International Setaria Genetics Conference (2014)
From March 10 to 12, 2014, the First International Setaria Genetics Conference (ISGC)—hosted by ICS-CAAS and organized by the National R&D Center for Foxtail and Broomcorn Millet Industry Technology—was held in Beijing. More than 200 scientists and researchers from nine countries and regions, including China, the United States, the United Kingdom, and Brazil, conducted in-depth and wide-ranging exchanges under the theme“Advancing foxtail millet as a model plant for functional genomics in grasses (Poaceae).”
The conference fully showcased the latest achievements in international Setaria (foxtail millet) genetics, representing the highest academic level, broadest participation, and largest scale to date in this field. Its successful convening is of great significance for deepening exchange and cooperation between Chinese scientists and their international peers and for enhancing and consolidating China’s original innovation capacity in Setaria genetics.
