  刘春明,1963年2月出生,男,中共党员,博士,二级研究员。现任中国农业科学院作物科学研究所所长、党委副书记。

  1984年山东师范学院生物系获学士学位;1987年在中国科学院上海植物生理研究所获硕士学位;1996年于英国John Innes研究中心/UEA获博士学位,1990-1992年在新加坡国立大学分子与细胞生物学研究所(IMCB)做访问学者;1996-1999年在美国奥克拉荷马州立大学做博士后研究;1999-2005年担任荷兰国际植物研究中心胚胎发育研究室主任/高级研究员。2005年入选中国科学院“百人计划”并回国组建了中国科学院植物研究所信号转导与代谢组学研究中心并担任主任,2006年获“百人计划”择优支持,同年获"国家杰出青年基金";2011年起担任中国科学院植物分子生理学重点实验室主任;2007-2015年担任中国细胞学会副理事长。现任中国作物学会常务理事;中国细胞学会副监事长;中国植物学会外事工作委员会主任;国家重大研究计划首席科学家;中国科协决策咨询专家;植物学报(英文版,JIPB)主编;中国科学院大学岗位教授等职。

  主要研究方向是植物种子发育,重点研究胚胎与胚乳发育的分子调控和细胞间信号转导、小分子多肽调控胚胎-胚乳信号交流的机理。主要学术贡献包括首次提出了生长素的极性运输决定植物器官原基形成的理论;建立了植物界第一个细胞质分裂的突变体模型;鉴定了一系列控制胚胎和胚乳发育必需基因;发现控制干细胞分化的CLV3和CLE19基因是以小分子多肽参与信号传递;解析了调控水稻灌浆关键转录因子NF-YB1控制水稻灌浆的分子机理。迄今为止已发表SCI论文70余篇。参与了【植物发育的分子机理】(1998年,科学出版社)和【植物细胞分化与器官发生】(2015年科学出版社出版)等教科书的编写。1989年获山东省教育委员会科技进步二等奖;2009年获国家级政府特殊津贴;同年获“新中国60年最有影响力的期刊人”称号。
