夏先春,男,1963年10月生,安徽六安人,博士,中国农业科学院作物科学研究所研究员,博士生导师。1987-90年在北京市农林科学院从事玉米育种工作;1991-95年在中国农业大学工作,主要从事小麦育种及小麦抗病性遗传研究;1996-99年在德国Hohenheim大学攻读博士学位,利用分子标记研究玉米对矮花叶病、丝黑穗病和大斑病的抗性遗传;1999-2002年在国际玉米小麦改良中心(CIMMYT)做博士后,从事玉米种质资源的遗传多样性研究;2002年11月至今,在中国农业科学院作物科学研究所工作,主要从事小麦抗病性和品质性状遗传、分子标记开发及分子育种研究。“十五”和“十一五”期间主持国家863小麦分子育种项目和国家自然科学基金项目6项。

在Theor Appl Genet、Molecular Breeding、Crop Science等国外期刊发表SCI论文70多篇,在“作物学报“和“中国农业科学”等国内期刊发表论文40多篇。获国家科技进步一等奖(2008)、北京市科技进步一等奖(2006)、农业部科技进步二等奖(1994)各1项。任“Theor Appl Genet”、“遗传”和“分子植物育种”杂志编委。
